Very easy Piano works for 4 hands (1 piano)...
on: August 15, 2013, 11:15:53 AM
Greetings...

I wanted to ask the community if there is piano duet music written for beginners. I have a few primary school students, and many of them have smaller or older siblings that have also been playing piano for a few years.

I'm looking for piano duet music that would be suitable for even the basic beginner piano players up to say Grade 2 AMEB (Grade 3 ABRSM, Trinity etc) I would even be happy with scores that have one very easy part and the 2nd players part is extremely difficult.

I've had no problem sourcing harder works for 4 hands, but as for the easiest - I am not that familiar with them. I would appreciate any help. If you have links, I would appreciate, but even if you just know of a work that's suitable - let me know what it is and I can look it up.

Hmm... I think that Pizzicato Polka by J. Strauss is a relatively easy piece, and also the Mendelssohn op. 72 "Six Pieces for Children". They're pretty fun duets.:)

Godowsky wrote many easy 4 hand piano pieces.

I was beginning to think I wasn't going to get a response... thanks for making a start on this thread.

I didn't realise Godowsky wrote some easier pieces for piano... after listening to his Chopin Etudes for one hand - I didn't even consider him in my search.

I'll have a look at the Strauss as well, and the Mendelssohn. Thanks for helping.

Sorry to bump my own thread... but I take it no one else has given this idea much though???

Granted playing piano can sometimes be seen as a rather lonely instrument and the odds of being able to play in an ensemble are far thinner than any other instrument... I would hopefully like to bridge that gap.

Hi...

A friend of mine was asking a similar question, so I went and composed three short, very easy, fun duets...

Here they are: https://www.musica-ferrum.com/documents/duets%20for%20barbara.pdf

There's a note for her especially, but if you want I can edit it out at some point. just let me know.

Cheers

Hey Nikola...

No, no - keep the dedication. I think it's important that those whose influence encourage composition, should be credited.

I like them... Is it okay to print them out and use them for a couple of young students? Mainly siblings...
