Well, I wouldn't go that far, but he is very good at what he does. A lot of western folk would consider this a little like musac or piped in relaxing mood music in the dentist's office. But I enjoy it . It's VERY Japanese. Very contemporary Japanese. I've been in love with Japan for many years now and I'll be there for 8 months next year and looking forward to it. I've played and accompanied a lot of similar music. It's repetitive and sort of bland at times, but it really does speak to a certain kind of soul. A japanese music loving soul. It's very pure and innocent, in a way. NOT Takemitsu. No, this is music for your uncomplicated music loving audience.

I agree with birba, it's very japanese! I knew him already
I love his "film-music-parts", because make his music more dynamic, and he does it in 'its just measure', whatever it's written haha so that it sounds nor classic nor film music, but great music.
