Thanks for the advice. I have been practicing it this afternoon and it feels weird. On the right hand it is needed for the melody of the piece, but on the left hand it is needed to keep the pattern....
how do you recommend to practice it? It seems like weird hand motion...
Thanks.
It may feel more comfortable for you to place the left thumb in deeper on the key and the right out closer to you. Either way the two thumbs land on that E together, remember that the left thumb is only placed there for half the value of the right. It's rather a superficial move but keeps the pattern going as you say. As soon as the right leaves the note the left returns again. Count the measure out loud as you play while learning it. I'd be inclined to count 1 and 2 and 3 and for those eighth notes in the left hand. The melody should fall right in place.
You might practice this a bit hands separate. Something you could try too, as an exercise to get that pattern set, is to play hands together but place the melody an octave higher. Just run through it that way a few times, then bring the hands back to proper location.
This would be so much easier to work out in person at a piano !!
