Please help in identifying this waltz
on: October 05, 2013, 01:46:01 AM
Hi
This has been my quest for over 35 years now and I'm seeking help!!
The waltz is in B Flat Major, heavy in arpeggio and is only the introduction (
sorry
) but that's all that was ever played by my late Grandmother. I committed it to memory and have been in search of ever since!
I know it's not much of a recording, and any pointers/suggestions are very welcome (please don't mention my timing
)
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards

If it's any help, you're actually in E flat. The only piece that comes close that I can think of is Auguste Durand's Waltz in E flat. There are a number of recordings on Youtube.

Thank you for your reply! gosh you've got a good ear and are correct...I can't even blame a typo!!
Taking your suggestions on board, I've listened to a few recordings and will investigate sheet music options although I'm not sure it is the one. I omitted to mention in my original post that Gran indicated 'it had something to do with spring'.
I'm quite sure it's not Strauss or Tchaikovsky.
Thanks again, I appreciate your time.
