Musical Reharmonization, automatically?
on: October 08, 2013, 05:12:34 PM
Hi to everyone of PianoStreet, I'm pianist since my 10 years old and I'm bachelor in Computer Science too (2010). I and a friend talked about this theme and decided to try developed something
about reharmonization in our Final Paper, reharmonization was a very complex matter in Musical Theory, which we had never seen before in an automatic way, or in other words, done by computer.
So we developed a musical software that allows reharmonize piano scores automatically, obviously that the process isn't perfect because there are some limitations. For instance, the software can't modify the rhythm or the Melody of a song, only the Harmony, besides that nowadays our software just accepts midi files as entry. The midi file is converted to piano score and after you can select among reharmonization techniques to reharmonize and generate different versions of it...

Our software, currently, was published at google play (is available to android devices), there are two versions, a demo version and a complete version.  I would like to know the opinions of musicians about it. I thought that here would be te right place.
If someone is interested in knowing the software can visualize it (free version) below:

 Best Regards,
 Ricardo.
