Here is my performance of Ravel's Ondine. Suggestions and constructive criticisms are encouraged!

There is something missing in your dynamic range. pp is too loud and ff is too quiet.

You have many good qualities showing through, but overall your tone lacks focus. You have a fine sense of rhythm, and this helps to convey the performance nicely.

I do not like how your RH circled and hovered over the keys prior to the opening. When it finally began to play, it was much too loud. There were some notes missing in the texture, but it was more the loudness which I found troublesome.

The angle of your wrist and the position of your hand in the very opening looked a bit tense to me.

I think you managed to give quite a musical performance despite these things I have mentioned.

Your accompaniment is way too loud. Try lowering your wrist and play with the soft pedal.
Or maybe it's just the recording device you're using.
from 0:59 - 1:08, it might be easier to just keep the left hand on top of the right than doing what you're doing.
at 4:15, you can really accent the first 2 notes

thanks for the feedback everyon e! yeah, the recording device wasn't of the highest quality. maybe I'll upload a video taken from a professional studio sometime.

A professional studio would help us to hear your dynamic range in better quality, but it won't make your dynamic range wider.

Women and the Chopin Competition: Breaking Barriers in Classical Music

The piano, a sleek monument of polished wood and ivory keys, holds a curious, often paradoxical, position in music history, especially for women. While offering a crucial outlet for female expression in societies where opportunities were often limited, it also became a stage for complex gender dynamics, sometimes subtle, sometimes stark. From drawing-room whispers in the 19th century to the thunderous applause of today’s concert halls, the story of women and the piano is a narrative woven with threads of remarkable progress and stubbornly persistent challenges.
