Mozart K310 and his grace notes

I have been listening to countless recordings and was planning to tackle this beast. But, everyone seems to play the appoggiatura grace notes all different in the first bar of the first movement

Eg. Richter and Uchida on the first bar play the dsharp before the beat and play the e on the beat.
But Gilel plays the first bar the dsharp on the beat. I am reading the appendix of the Henle addition and states the sixteenth note appoggiatura should be played on the beat.

Also the second bar has a sixteenth A note attached to a quarter g sharp on the first beat. general consensus is they change it to both to eighth notes. On the henle appendix it says appoggiatura best as sixteenthnote. (semiquaver). So that mean it should be played as a sixteenth note and doted eighth or two eighths?

Is this a matter of personal preference or am I just not understanding something. Would love if someone can enlighten me

There is a certain flexibility here that is a matter of musical judgment.

Henle editors are one thing, but they can be a bit pompous/dictatorial at times. And consider the stature vs the likes of the pianists you mention.

I suggest you try it in various ways and go with what you think works best.

FWIW, I prefer the first grace note to lead into the beat rather than fall on it (a la Richter/Uchida). Though I prefer the Henle solution in the second bar.
