Can you define the boundaries for obsession vs. love?

Can you define the boundaries for obsession vs. love?  Especially in regards to piano.

I'm finding if I happen to skip practice or am just to busy, I've felt I've let myself down and am not making enough time.  I know I have a hell schedule for Tuesday Wend and Thursdays.

I have to work at 8:30 then go to school then by the time I come home at about 10 PM, I'm exhasted.  I'd do some quick practice in the morning but I feel I need a good solid 3 hours...perhaps not all in one block.

I'm sad.

have you not already realised i write exceptionally useless posts? i wouldn't say that i'm obsessed with my piano, but music in general definately yes i think about it all the time and it annoys the hell out of all my friends when all i want to talk about is classical music. hell i incorporate it into my art! they think i'm weird...

Perhaps love is just an obsession which is not destructive?  Or is that the other way around - an obsession is love which has become destructive?

I think galonia hit on the right idea.

It's an obsession when you or someone else thinks it's destructive or doesn't understand why you're doing it.

There are probably degrees of it -- Someone can be "obsessed" with someone else and think about them all the time, but not really be "destructive" about it.  Then, you've got the type of person in love who's obsessed with someone and goes off and stalks them.

Don't overlook discipline and commitment -- It's not necessarily love or obsession if you decide to do something and follow through with that.

Take Your Seat! Trifonov Plays Brahms in Berlin

“He has everything and more – tenderness and also the demonic element. I never heard anything like that,” as Martha Argerich once said of Daniil Trifonov. To celebrate the end of the year, the star pianist performs Johannes Brahms’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko on December 31.
