Should I use this "book" instead of getting a new piano teacher?

A few days ago I decided to read for about half an hour from this wonderful book. It taught me more than my piano teacher did in 2 years (I stopped taking lessons a few months ago to practice by myself).
I am learning so much about how to play "correctly" from this book, and slowly correcting the mistakes that my previous teacher had taught me.
Is self-learning a bad idea? I practice every day for about an hour now, because apparently you need to be in top condition to play piano.

Nothing wrong with teaching yourself. As soon as you start hitting plateaus to your development then go seek a teacher. It is much better to self learn as much as you can then go seek instruction, rather than merely believe everything a teacher tells you and not have any experience to bounce it off. Some people argue that in self learning you can develop bad habits but that is just an excuse not to explore and experiment. We have to do things not completely right so when we are shown a better path we will agree with it based on how much better it is to our previous method.

That makes a lot of sense, thank you.
