Changing teacher
on: December 03, 2013, 06:18:19 PM
I have been with a piano teacher for more than 2 years.
One month earlier, I had to tell her that it was necessary to cancel a class because I had to be more time at the office. She told me that it was ok, that we will change the class for the next week.
However, that same night, she sent me an email where she told me that she was angry with me because of the change, that renting the place where we take he class is very expensive, she didn't like the change, etc, etc. Even she said that despite the event, she was going to "give me another chance" because I haven't been late.
I sent her a reply where I told her that I understand but it wasn't my fault, that it was because of the work at the office, and that I have already apologized with her and she shouldn't be reacting like that. She only replied with "Good night".
That way of behaving is telling me that she thinks that she can control me and that the moment of changing teacher has come, what do you think?
She has been looking for me at email, but I haven't replied to her yet, I know I have to face her and tell her that we won't be taking classes together anymore, but I don't know how to tell her.

I think it's turning more and more into an electronic world where you can't really read emotion into the conversations well. Some things still really should be discussed in person. If you haven't done that I suggest you start there.

Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.
