Yamaha GT20

Hi all,

A couple of years ago, when i was still in university and had less money to spend, i bought a cheap Yamaha stage piano. Now i have a decent job and a bit more cash to spend so i thought it would be good to buy something better.

I own an appartement and have neighbours everywhere so buying an acoustic piano is simply not going to work. I have to practice in the evenings and weekends and want no discussions about sound levels what-so-ever. Paying extra money for a silent piano seems pointless as i won't use the acoustic anyway.

Thus, i'm looking for a digital piano. A local dealer here in the Netherlands has a Yamaha GT20 for sale. Price is EUR 2.650,-. I have played it last week and it plays pretty good (for a digital, that is), no strange sounds or quirks and overall seems to be in very good shape. It is however second hand (obviously). I also really like the looks of the piano.

I'm having some doubts about the price though, which i feel may be a bit too high. I can't find alot of info about this model, so i don't know how old it actually is (the dealer doesn't know either..).

So, it looks and sounds fine, seems to be in good overall shape but is EUR 2.650,- even a price that is anywhere near realistic?? Anyone knows if this price is reasonable or what the original selling price was? When was this model produced?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

BTW, EUR 2.650,- equals a little less then 3.600,- US dollars or a little less the 2.200 GBP.
