Chopin posts here?
Although that is just as interesting a question as it would be to study the frequency of Bach posts, I think you would have to make the calculations yourself...most of us are busy practicing our Chopin
Um, Chopin is an extremely popular classical composer. Therefore, he gets mentioned on this forum at least ten times a day?
Not a Chopin worshipper. Perhaps it is because when I took lessons as a kid, my piano teacher 'used' his work as 'punishment' for when I came to her home, unprepared for my lesson.I'm not sure if she hated Chopin, or wanted me to hate Chopin. She succeeded at the latter.
What the fruit is wrong with her? Why would she do that?! Some people can "know" piano and should not be allowed to teach. What a b * tch!
I know. I read your reply here and thinking back to all that, I just want to cry. To this day, I struggle to play certain composers because of her. In the grand scheme of life, it is not a big deal but she hurt my desire to want to take music to another level. The irony is, I think she treated me that way because she didn't like her own life choices. As a kid at the time, I just did what she expected of me, but looking back...she was an unhappy person. An incredibly talented pianist but not a patient teacher. But she thought I should pursue music as a profession...and was disappointed when after years of lessons and I was a teenager, I didn't want her dream. That's the irony. She caused me a lot of angst that I think had it been different, and not such a harsh way of teaching, I might have stuck with music more than a hobby into my adulthood.I haven't really thought about all this in so long. When I was out of high school my family moved away from that town where she lived, and I trained for a state competition with an entirely new instructor. He was very different and believed in me. I wish I had met him when I just started lessons as I wouldn't have stupid hang ups with certain composers as I do now. Sorry I went off topic, but thx for listening!
I think we have been Sorabji free for a month.Thal

You've got a point there!
And you've got a lot to apologise for. Groan!!
What did I do now
