The piece i'm talking about is the piece no. 10 ("In the Kraton") from Leopold Godowsky's "Java suite". i'm not sure if you're familiar with it, but you can listen to it on Youtube, and i posted the sheet music below. it's on page 95. basically, i have an exam on the 25th of february, in just 23 days, and it's an exam where the students need to choose one at least 5 minute long piece and learn it on their own, without the help of their teacher. After thinking about choosing Kapustin's concert etudes 3 and 6 but realizing that they are too difficult for me right now, i chose this amazing piece by Godowsky.
But i guess i underestimated it. A lot. it has a slow tempo, but it's basically 15 pages of jumbled up, complex polyrythm and polymeter rhythm, with very few repeating patterns i'm starting to doubt if i will be able to make it. But, considering that i spend 2-3 hours on this piece alone for the next 23 days, do you think i could make it?
