Not appassionata, or moonlight.  Not too hard either.
Thanks!

Have you finished the 31/2 your teacher suggested already?

Sonata in E flat Opus 27 no. 1, the first movement is very tough to pull off musically speaking.  The fourth is actually quite technical and a bit crazy.

Tempest isn't that bad like J_menz mentioned, but it's quite popular.  Opus 90 in e minor is shorter and i think it is quite beautiful.

I did no 22 Op 54 in F major a few years back. At a guess (not having actually played the Moonlight) I would say it is marginally more difficult musically and technically. It's in two movements, is very enjoyable and perhaps not as popular as it should be (given the Waldstein and Appassionata are either side of it).
Current Repertoire:
Ginastera -Sonata
Bach- Prelude and Fugue #14 (WTC 2)
Berg - Sonata
Liszt - Paganini Etude #2
Kapustin - Big Band Sounds

https://www.amazon.com/Virtual-Box-Set-Complete-Beethoven/dp/B00A1BC3B2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1392785802&sr=8-1

For $5.99 you can buy recordings of all 32 sonatas, if you don't want to be a pirate.

You can also watch them all for free on Youtube by searching for the opus numbers.

Basically, do your own research.

The "Cuckoo" sonata, Op. 79, is comical if you understand musical comedy.  My first teacher didn't like it and forbade me from playing it.  I don't think she understood the humor in this piece at all. :P

+1

however many of the 'complete sonatas' recordings and scores leave out the 3 Bonn sonatas, of those, the 3rd is often considered the most successful (has ideas we see in some later 'popular' one(s)).
