The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

Best digital piano?
on: February 21, 2014, 07:39:43 AM
I'm debating between Yamaha P-155 and Yamaha Dgx-650.
Let me know which one's better or of some other good DPs. Can't spend over 1300$

Hi Justin,

Here at digitalpianocompare, we're fans of both these instruments - please see our reviews here:

https://www.digitalpianocompare.co.uk/yamaha-p-155-digital-piano-review
https://www.digitalpianocompare.co.uk/yamaha-dgx-650-digital-piano-review

We'd argue that which one you go for comes down to a few things.

For the P-155:
- It's portable
- It's more powerfully amplified

For the DGX-650:
- It's got Yamaha's new Pure CF sound engine (so piano sound is arguably a bit better)
- It's better suited if you're looking for a more static instrument

Hope that helps,

Regards

If you're limited to just those two pianos, it's an easy choice. The P155.
The DGX is just one step above toy piano. The P155 is pretty decent.

You may or may not want to use all the features of the DGX650. i will say that it's a serious upgrade from it's predecessor which I believe was the 630. For a pretty informative look at it check out this link with video from a Yamaha rep at the store Kraft Music: https://www.kraftmusic.com/digital-pianos-and-keyboards/digital-pianos/yamaha/dgx650/?utm_source=adcenter&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=txt&utm_campaign=yam-dgx650

You can search there and find a similar video for the P155.
Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.

If those were my only two choices I'd pick the DGX650. Although the P155 is very goog too.
But by far IMHO the CP4 is the better over the two...
