How do I play this chord?
on: February 23, 2014, 07:15:14 AM
How do I play the LH chords in this bar?

1. Does that squiggle before the chord mean "trill". If it does which note of the chord do I "trill" on?

2. The 2nd chord I can't reach all 3 notes with my LH. should I be improvising something easier for this part or trying to play the chord over LH and RH?

If any of the above is wrong please correct me.

The squiggle means to Arpeggiate the chord. You want to play the bottom note and then sort of 'roll' up the chord from bottom to top (as opposed to playing all notes at once) This also solves the problem of not reaching all notes. Catch the G with the pedal, play the D, then take your thumb off the G and you can reach the B natural.

Hope this helped :)

Thanks both of you! had a read on arpeggios makes more sense now realised trill is only squiggle going horizontal. Played it with arpeggio technique sounds right just got to practice =)

Hey Hammer...

If you want to technically make it easier, the top note of each LH arpeggio can technically be played with the RH as well as the chord... if that makes things easier - like this guy does...
