Respighi Sheet Music
on: February 24, 2014, 06:16:45 PM
My boss has had me searching the internet for a piece that I can't find anywhere, so I thought I would ask those that may know A LOT more than me.

I am looking for Ottorino Respighi: Waltz in C # Minor or Waltz in F # Minor (preferably the C # Minor).

If anyone has suggestions of where to locate this sheet music, please let me know...

Thank you

was it ever published? do you have an opus number? Grove makes no mention of it. I only know of one waltz for piano that is part of this set 'six pieces for piano' but it matches not either of the key signatures  you provide. your boss should be more specific. Oxford also makes no mention of it either, I suspect if it does exist, it would likely be early or middle in his output as late works were focus almost exclusively on orchestral works, with the exception of his 'neo baroque'ish mini phase that gave the cool toccata for piano and orchestra.
Wish I could help more, I got nothing until your boss person gives a better parameter or more details (transcription? period in his output? etc)

I can't find anything about an F#m one, but the C#m one exists and has been recorded (only once it seems). It's P.37. No score in any of the usual haunts.

Thanks. I was just going to post the CD... I did find that while searching for the sheet music. I don't think the music will help him too much.

Too bad, thanks for the help. I will let him know there is no sheet music that anybody could find!

If anyone does come up with a location (even if it is in a book that we have to purchase) please let me know so that I can get it for him.

Thanks!!!

The score is probably on this DVD, though my Italian is pretty much non existent. That would be in manuscript form.
