Chopin pieces to learn?
on: February 27, 2014, 02:29:23 AM
Hi, I'm rather new to this forum. Been looking for some Chopin pieces to learn (he's my favorite composer of all time as you might tell from my username, and a huge influence on my piano sound), been playing for 4 years, going on 5. Some of the pieces I have LEARNED are here..

Waltz in C# Minor, Op 64/2
Prelude in E minor (don't remember the catalog number :( )

Pieces I'm working on-

Nocturne in C# Minor, Posthumous (really close!)
Raindrop Prelude (Db Major, also really close!)
Nocturne in Eb Major (Just started)

Possible pieces I've considered learning-
All "do-able" preludes (I have a book of all of them)
Waltz in B minor, Op 69/2

Well that's it... Thanks a lot for all responses! If it helps, my forte (no pun intended) is in expression and fingering. My weak spot is in sight reading.

Quite a number of the Mazurkas should also be within your reach, so it may pay to invest in a collection of them.

Oh, I have a few mazurkas that I can mess around with. I have a "Selected works of chopin" book. I'll see about the mazurkas, thanks!
