Are there any Minnesota pianists on PianoStreet?
on: February 27, 2014, 08:22:14 PM
I have two concert grand pianos...and Steinway D and a Mason & Hamlin CC2...and I would love to play two piano works.

I've tried Craig's List locally, but no bites yet.

I know this is a long shot, but I didn't think it could hurt to ask.

Thanks,
Michael

Lucky you!

However I think the Piano World forums have a stronger North American readership than Piano Street which seems rather more international.

Thank you!  I'll also post on Piano World.  I seldom visit that forum...actually forgot about it!

I play a lot of 2 piano music in Toronto, but it's kind of a long drive.

Do you play the Rachmaninoff Symphonic Dances?

Hello fellow pianists.

I suffered a horrific house fire, which ruined my two beautiful instruments.

In addition to claiming the lives of three of my four companions.

I am sorry to hear about your damaged pianos. Breaks my heart. By the way i am living in Papillion, Nebraska. ( next to omaha) i am an early advanced level pianist (doing the RCM level 10 exam next year.) no experience yet in two piano pieces. But in the next few years i hope i will learn and improve enough to start to do it.

That's tragic.  Not the instruments; anything material can be replaced.  The companions, though... remember them in peace and love.

Update:  Since my devastating fire March 18th, my life is slowly returning to normalcy, although I will never recover from my loss.

I purchased a new home.  It is beautiful.  I also found and purchased ONE replacement instrument, a Steinway C, which arrived missing crucial components and provided much angst and aggravation.  Thank you, David Andersen of LA.  THE WORST, MOST NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE PLANET! But, all's not lost....the piano is fantastic and WILL be made exquisite.  Once the missing parts are received from both Steinway (missing Lyre parts) and the music desk arrive. My piano tech extraordinaire spent 7 hours regulating the piano, which brought out MUCH of its potential.

So far, I've added two new companions to my family.  A precious Dream Heart Persian kitty, adorable and ALL love, as well as a rescue Beagle/Terrier mix dog, Jess (she requires much more work!).  I will recover from my losses; however, I will remain forever affected.
