Identifying a piano piece
on: February 28, 2014, 09:20:25 AM
I have a piece of piano music which I recorded being played, and it's turning out to be quite difficult to identify what it is. I've tried the Shazam Soundhound apps, but it can't be identified just yet.

I'm not sure of any other identification method at the moment, so I decide to post it here.

You can have a listen here:

(It's at a very low volume so you might have to turn it up quite a bit :P)

Thanks, and hopefully someone might know what it is!

It isn't a classical piece. It sounds like somebody's own composition with quite heavy use of
the i-VI-VII progression. Lots of people come on here wanting to know what a piece is (usually from a TV show or film) and 95% of the time it isn't actually a piece that's a part of the classical repertoire, it often turns out to be just a piece that's been composed for that particular show/film. Surely you can tell from the sound of this piece that it's far too modern to be something from the classical repertoire...?
