I will say outright that I prefer the theme to the variations. However, I tend not to be a fan of Theme and Variations in general, so don't take it as any form of actual criticism.

It sounds to me like the 'real ending' has yet to emerge from your subconscious! I have dozens of pieces which lack endings... my treasure trove of unfinished works is always growing. I see it as being good source material which I can come back to at any time in the future when my ideas on musical structure have developed further.

I think this theme has some real potential. Keep working on it, as in, keep working on what you want to do with it!

This deserves more views and comments.  I had to listen a few times before posting but this is really impressive, the variation with just the left hand was really beautiful.  do you play Ravel? your "tone world" is very similar.

Enjoyably evocative music, with particularly acute layered use of phrase and harmony. I didn't know that term for highlighting moments within a passage until a forum member told me. The effect is like the flashes of light within a crystal, and gives piano playing a multi-dimensional illusion. It makes all the difference, as in your playing here, yet so few pianists seem to manage it. I look forward to more of your music.
