Beautiful piano pictures
on: November 26, 2004, 01:45:33 AM
Ok, here is a fun challenge for us daydreamers:  Find a picture of the most beautiful piano you have ever seen!  Here are two nice ones:

I dont like kawai pianos, but this one here has a nice case:

https://www.kawaius.com/crystal_piano.htm

And here is a 9'6'' Bosendorfer:

These arent nearly the most beautful I have ever seen- It is just to give you ideas!  Happy hunting!

(Probably won't work well on stage because the vertical beam thingy would block the audience's view of the pianist.)

How the hell cannot a Bosfie be not one of the most beautiful pianos?  I find most of the other ones repulsive (except for the Yammie) in my living room!)

Spatula: read the original challenge again. It said 'Find a picture of the most beautiful piano you have ever seen!', not 'Find me some firewood for the winter!' lol

I hope laughing at my computer is not a sign of madness - they'll be coming to take me away in a minute if it is.  ;)

Thanks everyone for participating in the piano eye candy challenge!

Ok, lets see where we are at:

I like Axtremus' nomination:
https://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/ContentDetail/ModelSeriesDetail/0,6373,CNTID%253D2079%2526CTID%253D202200,00.html

beautiful, and actually practical.

and the Schimmel one isnt bad, although it sort of looks like a handgun lol

I dont know about you guys, but I find those Seiler pianos so gaudy!

Now spatula, I cant stop laughing my head off at this:

haha can you imagine yourself seated at this thing??
Good show everyone!  Keep them coming!!  I think the most beautiful of the ones posted are the yamaha Axtremus posted and perhaps my original Bosendorfer (hey after seeing Spatula's coral reef piano, Bosendorfer doesnt seem so bad..)

I hope that worked, this is the first time I have put an image on the forum.
Don't you love the look of a normal, new, shiny, balck yamaha grand piano?  I sure do.

To the answer of Spatula

The Bosendorfer cannot be the most beautiful piano, simply because there is Fazioli.

yeah, I heard great things about Fazioli!  When I was visiting the kawai dealership, the guy told me if I ever get the chance, to play a Fazioli.  He said you could control the sound so well playing it feels like plucking the strings of a guitar!

Great pictures, thanks!

I had the opportunity to play a Fazioli some years ago in a small theatre and it really gives a particular feeling. The lower notes sound in a way that they let me astonished.

I believe the most beautiful one, is the most ordinary Hamburg Steinway Model D.
Not any of the flameboyant artcase one.

Summertime was nice, but I wouldnt be able to play it because it would be so distracting, and if I were watching someone play it, I wouldnt be able to pay attention to the music for the same reason.  However can you imagine how nice it would look in a gorgeous garden with a fountain in the foreground..water cascading off the rocks...
wow... Now THAT would be beauty!  (tash, paint us a picture  ;))

But my favorite Steinway is this old 1877 rosewood D:

But I really like the more modern look of the Boesendorfer Porsche design:

I actually say this exact piano in person. It's the first Steinway art case piano EVER! I even managed to touch it...mwahahaha...I saw it (and alot of other amazing pianos) on a trip to NYC in Steinway Hall last summer. It was great!

Actually, the one at Steinway Hall *is* one just like it, but not the same one!  There are *two* of these--one at Steinway Hall and one at Maximilliaan's in NYC.  The one at Steinway Hall is actually a slightly nicer color with a bit more red to the darker wood and a bit more warmth in the light gold wood, but other than the color differences, they *are* identical.
