Being warmed up for a recital HELP
on: June 01, 2014, 03:27:19 AM
i have never played in a recital or performance but I have one coming up next week.  I know I am playing last and I am worried about being warmed up to play when I have to.  Are there any finger/hand exercises people do while they are waiting to play?  maybe air piano and pretend you are playing the piece?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Personally, I just try the piano I'll be playing on a few minutes before the recital begins. After that, I take my time to relax and enjoy the other performances. I think it's better than playing "air piano". It's not like you'll suddenly get bad if you don't play for a few minutes.

mmm, what has worked for me is to rehearse in the place where I am going to play and also play the piece in front of people whose opinion I care before the recital.
