No, nor will I watch.

Football is played by a bunch of overpaid, cheating, diving and referee chasing poofs.

I haven't gotten on yet but I definitely want to- now that my schedule isn't so full I can actually watch my favorite sport! Sorry to say I haven't been keeping up with the teams this year though... still, looking for a great tournament!

Our country won against Ecuador, if we're correct. We don't follow such trifle matters such as this unmanly game nevertheless the players were forewarned that any disgrace to our soon to be Empire's HQs would be a capital sin.

One of them wasn't obedient when he celebrated a score, so we influenced one of the other soon-to-be-dominated-by-my-hand nation's players to show him a lesson.

He will learn decorum and pain will be his teacher.

If it weren't for the fact you couldn't keep your personal pronouns in agreement, you'd be starting to scare me.

What's up with "the flop?"  I just saw it on the news.  For fooling the refs.... It looks a little... unmanly.  (Haha.  And it's called the flop, at least on the news broadcast.)

Indeed, it is a disgrace to lo and behold such wimpy behavior in a field. We think those who are caught putting such facades should be shipped to Alaska, where they would suffer by playing each game of their careers versus bears...naked.

Seems like it would be an easy fix, esp. if it's all on camera from multiple angles.

Is this still going on?  If so, who won?  I need to keep up for anyone around me who mentions this.

It is still going on. That means no-one has won yet. If someone had won, it would no longer be going on.  ::)

Well, you must admit that 'football' US-style is actually the silly naming, since its mainly running and throwing the ball.
So you should just change American Football into the name 'soccer' and soccer into 'football', and everything makes sense again ;)

Guess that's that.  Germany.

Now my life can go back to normal with all the soccer watching I wasn't doing.

Nah, you'll still secretly be not watching soccer.

I thought I might watch something at some point but never got around to it.

But hey, I just listened through the German national anthem (I think) here, so that's a plus musically out of the whole event.

You should be warned that those are the old words. The text was revised after that nasty WWII thing.
