Which piano concerto? (only one movement from them)

Hi, I want help with choosing piano concerto.
Now I thinking about Rachmaninoff 2 (1 mov. ) or Schumann A minor ( 3 mov. ). Which you think is easier ? I really don´t know, that Schumann seems you just going fastly from beginning to end. I tried just learn 3 first pages ( I talking about 3 mov. now) and I learned it 4 days to frame of mind play it from memory. I think 4 days are too much. And If I tried about Rachmaninoff it was little same, but It´s just Rachmaninoff - so awesome you know.. . So I want your opinions on this two composed, Which mov. you think is easier or your other adevices.
Maybe If you know about some other piano concerto on this level you can tell me too. Thanks for your help if you have some questions on me just write

-Choose pieces that fits your level!  I suggest some of Mozarts pianoconserts ..or Beethoven, Nr 2 or 3 is popular.

I played Mozart piano concertos n. 23 and 22, I want play some romantic now ....

Chopin Concerto No. 2, it's so great, if you want a Romantic composer. You don't want to do Beethoven? I envy you that you'd think of trying Schumann, a concerto of all. Slow or fast, I somehow always ran out of my fingers with Schumann. I felt like learning Chopin Concerto No. 2 is easier than even Kinderszenen, I am sure I will be killed by all of you by saying this. (And I did indeed try to learn both of them, so I am not joking)

I just watching now on Chopin concertos I think 1 ( E minor) is easier than 2 what you think ? But definitely seems easier than Schumann or Rach. About Beethoven I never think before. But really wish play some romantic now.

Well, Chopin Concerto No. 2 is shorter, and also it's supposed to be easier to actually work with Orchestra (Of course, I'd never have such a chance). I never tried Chopin Concerto No. 1. My teacher suggested definitely No. 2 for my level, so I trust No. 2 is easier than No. 1. He also said I may peak at Rach concerto No. 1. He said it's a lot easier than Rach No. 2. Schumann? Not on the table for me.

Sorry "amytsuda" if I sounded to harsh. Try the pieces as you like (of course) but if you play in a concert whith an orchestra (naturally) and an audience (naturally) I strongly suggest a easier piece.
-If you just play in a somewhat minor circumstance, I recomend, and,
as mentioned by others here, the Chopin pianoconcert no 2 is very very  beatyful and extraordinary romantic and easier than Rachmaninoff.
Look and listen to the very young Aimi Kobayaschi when she plays it (on youtube HD) I havent heard a better version!  (and she´s just 13/14 years old!!)

Oh I really think I will play Chopin 1 or 2 I just must choose now, I trying 1 now and It´s so easy I just play It of sheet without some technique problems of course in slow temp. Really thank you , And about Rach. 1 Did you study it sometime ? I think It´s more complicated than Rach. 2 what you think ?

I didn't look at Rach 1 yet. It's on my todo homework list. I skimmed Rach 2 score in a store, and definitely didn't want to even try. Now, this conversation triggered me to look up a score online. Now I agree, I have no idea why he said it's easier. Sometimes, what he thinks easy is not easy for me, and what he thinks difficult is easier for me. I don't wanna touch this either!

And so I also looked up Chopin Concerto No 1. I still think No. 2 is easier. It may sound like a lot of notes, but it's all codes and same patterns. The transition is very predictable. Once you work them out, it's a lot of same things, again and again. But based on what I just skimmed on No 1, it looks a lot more unpredictable and complicated. But now I want to try this one too (I am on business trip, so I don't have an access to keyboard... I now can't wait to go home!)

I am curious which one you choose.

Stevensk, no no no, I will never have any chance to play with an Orchestra. I am simply a amateur dreaded adult hobbyist who likes to delve into every possible piece in the world! But because of that, I can definitely suggest if there's anything even someone like me can try, then, all the wonderful piano students will definitely be able to handle.

Ok, Ok,  thats a completely different situation!! Then I strongly recommend Rachmaninoff pianoconcert number two!  -Why? -Because it consists of beautyful parts (extracts) that you can successfully play whithout an orchestra.!
Listen to HJ Lim when she plays these part on youtube (as an advertising for Yamaha unfortunately)

You are starting to sound like my teacher. Since I am an old amateur hobbyist with no future, he'd make me try everything he likes, and half of the lesson he is enjoy demonstrating how great he is on those horribly difficult things to his captive audience Will try Rach 2 too. I just need to work it with more patience.
