SMP has a very limited solo works published by Editions Combre, Choudens, and Delrieu. Anything else out there in print?

I doubt if there is anything in print, but it warms my heart when I hear of interest in his works. I have been playing his Op.6 sonata for the last couple of weeks, and I prefer it to many of the oft played Mozart twiddlings.

Steibelt is only usually dragged out to slag him off as the charlatan that got beat up by Beethoven, but if people can ignore this anecdote and look into his works, they will find much joy.

His better works are probably to be found amongst the PC's.

Jesus Christina, that piece you posted is beautiful. Was this guy a contemporary of mozart?

Poor Steibelt.  Though he had a legendary tremolo it is said that made hearers shiver. ;)

Legnick, Durand and Banks all publish a bit.

I have a number of Bisel Classics and find them excellent, if occasionally eccentric.

Found this book of Steibelt Sonatas op.27, published by Zen on, not available online, so definitely in my must-buy list!

Both the Etudes Op.78 (25 to 50) and the Op.27 sonatas have been scanned by members of Pianophilia, so it is always worth asking their.

I think that perhaps 95% of Steibelt has been scanned.
