a good slower recording of Chopin Etude Op 10 No 1?
on: September 17, 2014, 05:22:51 PM
I am learning Chopin's Etude No. 1, and slowly working my speed up...  I know that the given tempo marking is 176, and that's where I hope to be eventually...

But in the meantime, does anyone happen to know of any musically interesting recordings that take the piece at a slower tempo?  I just want to hear the range of interpretations possible as I play around with ideas while doing my slow climb up for speed.

Thank you so much for the quick responses so far!  I do like the Vasary interpretation and the different give and take that the piece can have when it breathes a bit more at the slower tempo.

And... the worst recording was...  Amazing.  Thanks for sharing that too.  It made me feel a little better about my own playing.

I made the mistake of checking his YT account...He plays the violin and cello also...pretty amazing as well  :o
I wonder if he is in fact some kind of a performance artists or if this is a carefully constructed practical joke?
