Ernesto Halffter - Llanto por Ricardo Vines
on: September 20, 2014, 07:11:01 PM
Here is a piece I recorded in 2011 by Ernesto Halffter, one of my favorite Spanish composers. He was a pupil of Manuel de Falla. This Llanto (Lament) was written after the death of the famous pianist Ricardo Vines, who meant much for Spanish and French piano music. A sombre and dignified piece, with some heart-wrenching harmonies and dissonances. I felt really inspired by it when recording, and I hope this comes across. Comments welcome.
