trill RH: the LH goes too fast
on: December 19, 2014, 11:44:01 AM
Bach 813 Minuet
https://javanese.imslp.info/files/imglnks/usimg/3/30/IMSLP02101-BWV0813.pdf
before the end there is a trill in the right hand. My problem is that I am not still able to play the LH at the right tempo, it seems I do accelerate (like following what RH fingers are doing) or going off beat...
tips?
thanks in advance

That's a mordent, check this table for full notation of ornaments (usually applicable for German Baroque):
https://www.pennuto.com/music/jsb_ornm.htm
In general baroque ornaments don't usually need to be really fast and they can be regular sudivisions of the note values. So what you can do is slow down the whole thing to countable state, learn the thing and then speed it up to the correct pulse of the piece.

OK, so just think of playing two 16th notes with the right hand for every 8th note in the left.
