Teaching questions
on: December 07, 2004, 01:47:08 AM
Hello, I have been a long time reader of this forum and on occasional poster, but unfortunately forgot my password and had to create a new user name. I am currently researching a career as a music teacher as part of an assignment and was wondering if anybody could possibly answer a few questions I have regarding teaching. I am currently majoring in music, and hope to transfer to a private college next year. Any help would be appreciated.

1. What is your title?

2. How did you decide to get into teaching and what steps did you take to get into it?

3. What training would you reccomend for someone who wanted to enter this field?

4. What skills and experience are needed to get into teaching?

5. What kind of education is required to get into your particular field?

6. What kind of salary range can you expect with this occupation?

7. How many hours does one usually work in this field?

8. What types of people are successful in this field?

9. Do you expect this field to expand in any way in the future?

10. What are your pros and cons of working in this field?

11. And finally anything else that may be helpful to someone thinking about getting into this occupation.

Sorry if it's too long, I don't need answers for every question. Again any small amount of help would be appreciated greatly.

Thanks,
Adam
