iPad/iPhone apps for Acoustic Pianos
on: February 02, 2015, 02:00:01 PM
Hi,

Would love to hear what other apps people are using with their Acoustic Piano. I'm amazed by the iPad/iPhone software that's out there, that they work with an Acoustic Piano is a Miracle to me.

Dust Buster 2 (iPhone) and Piano Maestro (iPad).
Because of these games, I've been consistently at my piano 2-3 hours a day, usually trying to level up to get the next Gold Star (and then being late for work). And this is from someone who was a terrible piano student when I was young.

Right Note - Ear Trainer (iPhone 4/iPad 2)
Another one I've come across, but I haven't started using yet.
Suddenly I felt quite brave, 'May I play something of yours now?' I boldly asked.

I'm interested too to find some apps to learn to read music better. I downloaded the maestro app you suggested but It appears to be yet another program to learn middle C,D and E. How long do you have to play the game before it gets a bit more challenging? Any other apps or sites online for learning to read music... But not just the first few notes of the treble clef?

Hi!
I recommend you to try the Wolfie for piano app(https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/piano-practice-with-wolfie/id868060859).
It is very professional and efficient for teachers and students. You can follow your students' home practice, the app turns the pages automatically and follow the playing with a cursor, which is great for improving sight-reading, and it gives feedbacks between the lessons.
I love it and my students too!

Let me know what you think!

Hi y'all! I just wanted to make sure you know that with Piano Maestro you can skip ahead to more appropriate levels (beyond middle C) by testing up (fast forward upper right corner) and you can transpose many of the songs in the library for an additional challenge.   Subscribers also get access to some fantastic method books (Piano Pronto is my fav) that can further guide you.  Let me know if you have questions! I'm a teacher who uses all the apps all the time with my students! :)
