I need a good piano tutorial book. Do you know of any good ones?
on: December 08, 2004, 01:55:55 AM
Hi all,
I was just wondering if there are any good books out there to help a decent piano player out. For example, I can play the pieces I practice very well, however my sightreading is not so good, and I would like to be able to recognize and play chords, and scales on every single key on the piano with ease. Are there any good books out there that can help me with this?

What you need is a good piano teacher. One that will be able to guide you. One that will be able to take you where you are at and then further your development.

To improve your sightreading, try Howard Richman's "Super sight-reading secrets". To gain greater facility in chord recognition and production, check out "The 20-minute chords and harmony workout". It takes you through a 35-day program, 20-minutes a day, of theory and exercises in harmony.
