Indeed, not those I wrote above, for the couldn't-possibly-be-any-simpler reason that I've already got those ;) No, I'm interested in piano (preferably, solo) transcriptions of any of his other concerts, but particularly the flute ones.

I imagine there's hardly any Vivaldi out there for piano solo (at least if we're talking about faithful, advanced transcriptions, and not just easy reductions), so even if there's no piano solo Vivaldi, I'd still like to know of any piano-flute, piano-violin, piano-cello, etc, scores that might be available of those concerts. Piano 4-hands and piano duets scores could also come in handy this time ;)

Huge cheers,
M.W.

There seem to be a number of them on IMSLP, such as Robert Novgeno's transcription of the Violin Concerto in G minor, RV 315, though I don't know a convenient way to search them out.

Google also reveals a Piano Transcription of Vivaldi's L'Estate Op.8 No.2 by Eric Quezada, who may have done more.

Stradal did a piano solo version of Bach's Organ Concerto in Dm BWV 596, which is itself a transcription of Vivaldi's Concerto in Dm for 2 Violins, Cello, strings and continuo RV 565. Likewise of Bach's Organ Concerto in Am BWV 593, being a transcription of Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Violins in Am RV 522.

transcription of a transcription, though by masters of the art at  both stages.

Not aware that Stradal did any direct transcription of Vivaldi, though would be very pleased to find he had.

Concerto in Dm Score on IMSLP.

Concerto in Am on IMSLP

Samuil Feinberg also did a transcription of the Am one.

Good evening,

Novegno - and others - seem(s) to have been active on some other works of the Vivaldi-area, in my opinion, too.

Let's have a look:

The following are not always for "piano SOLO", but when I detected an IMSLP-Vivaldi-arrangement of concertos which could be interesting in a way, I recorded it here.

( Istvan Mariassy should be known to us by name, since he was involved in the Könemann-Volumes of various composers, which are cheap, but good! )

To 8_octaves: first of all, a big sorry for the lateness of this reply, mate. And a huge thank you for that!! :) Not too many people go to that much trouble when lending a hand, but I assure you I fully appreciate it. True, not all are piano solo arrangements, but there's still plenty of those and definitely enough to make me happy for quite some time ;D
The 'Four Seasons' transcriptions I already have, but since there's not only one of those, it's still interesting to compare them, sort of like with Beethoven's 9 symphonies. ;)

If you ever come across any more, I'd love it if you let me know!

Cheers once more!

Hi Wirbelwind,
thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate that!!  :)

hmm: In order to check if there are any others which could evoke our interest, this time we should go a more convenient way:

On scoreexchange.com we should have a look. Some of the scores there are free,  :) but some have to be bought.  :( Nevertheless:

Try the following, to -perhaps- check out if there are still some interesting ones:

1. ) Enter "Vivaldi" in the small search field on the upper right. Execute the search.

2. ) Narrow the search. ("refine search results"). On the left side you would use the tab "more options", to select (roughly, since the DB-query-results we'll retrieve then don't seem to be TOO exact, but should be satisfactory) the following:
"Instruments" => "must" contain => "some" of the following: Select piano, keyboard, harpsichord there. (Or as you wish).

3. ) Execute the refined search and go through the result list, which is about 7 pages and can easily be checked. (There's a lot of 4 seasons-stuff, but that can be ignored by our eyes, I think.)
Though even if there aren't too many interesting "new" ones in the result lists, you perhaps should have a look. (I didn't have a thorough look, only checked the first 2 pages or so.)
________

Furthermore, there should be an arrangement of the flute concerto RV 428, D major ( op. 10,3 ), out there somewhere, which was arranged for piano with flute by Paul Graf Waldersee (Leipzig: Kistner). It's not on IMSLP, and I haven't seen it on the first 2 or 3 result-pages of scoreexchange.

But it's held at the British library, St Pancras, in the department "Printed Music, St Pancras Reading Rooms", shelfmark h.2050.b.(16.)

Contact, as far as I know, is:
96 Euston Road
London,  NW1 2DB
United Kingdom
Tel.: +44 (0)20 7412 7676

Cordially, and many greetings from 8_oct!  :)

In addition to the very famous Bach arrangements, Baiano played some anonymous harpsichord transcriptions. I don't know anything abouth these :D

In the Naxos CD devoted to Biegel's arrangement of the Four Seasons there are two concertos (Mandolin and Lute) arranged by A.Gentile and published by Ricordi.
Currently on:
Bach - WTK Book 1 n. 5-6
Beethoven - Sonate Pathétique
Rachmaninov - Polichinelle op. 3
Studies from Clementi and Moscheles
Telemann - Fantasias 1-2 in D
Haydn - b minor Sonata

First off, sorry for the extreme lateness of this reply, alkan2010!
Thanks for the link to those concertos; unless I'm very much mistaken, those arrangements are the ones from the Anne Dawson's book ;) . Unfortunately, I don't know much more about them. I believe the scores are only to be found in some library in Italy, so I'm pretty much out of luck with those... :(

Hey alkan2010! Sorry for the late reply. And big cheers for that link!!
It's such a pity there's so few Vivaldi works in piano arrangements; I'm seriously thinking of making my own transcriptions from some of my favorites, otherwise I will likely just keep drawing a blank on them...

Cheers once more, ;)
