suggestions for piano quartet/quintets
on: March 10, 2015, 01:03:16 AM
Hey all,

Finished up my first quarter in chamber music ... wondering if anyone had some good suggestions for a piano quartet or quintet. Thanks! I'm looking for something that is not extremely difficult, since we have 9-10 weeks to learn it ...

Hi,

I've played both of the Mozart Piano Quartets, and while they're a little tricky in places, I'd say they're manageable in 10 weeks (not knowing your standard).

The 1st one is a little more serious than the 2nd, which is gloriously fun - but both are very satisfying for performers and the audience alike.

You might want to look into the Dohnanyi C minor quintet -- it's not that hard of a piece, but really effective.
