The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

Pieces played in The Piano Teacher
on: December 09, 2004, 09:39:11 PM
I was wondering what the Schubert was the guy plays for the her in the class. It's a Schubert piece, slow, and has the right hand play "A.... c# c# c# c#..... G#.... c# c# c# c#" . The other is the song the girl plays at the recital before she cuts her hand. Does anyone know these 2? Thanks in advance.

Yeah it's a very good movie, but I'm sure not everyone likes it.

I found it btw, it's the second movement, Andantino, from Schubert's sonata D 959 in A major. Dno bout the song, though.

After a long listen, I think it's another piece. It does have the ac#c#c#c# passage in it. heh.

Wrong: it does have that in it, it is the sonata 959 :)

That movie has been discussed AT LENGTH in the past.  Just do a search at this site.  Some love it, some hate it!
