New Piece
on: May 06, 2015, 09:57:01 PM
Hello!
I've been playing piano for around two years now, and I'm trying to find a piece that isn't insurmountably difficult, but it still challenging enough to improve my skills. For a reference of my current skill, the song I'm playing right now is Chopins Raindrop's prelude. Feel free to recommend any piece.

I'd suggest doing a youtube search for "piano pieces grade 6" or similar words. That should give you a fair number to listen to and choose from.

Sorry, my pretentious side is showing :/
The Chopin prelude in E major is worth a go at your level, though it's very short.
The Chopin mazurkas are also lovely works, many of which are quite accessible to you right now.
The Schumann Kinderszenen (don't shoot me, Thal!) are also largely approachable,  though some may feel a little adventurous for your hands.

It is impossible to recommend a piece simply by knowing the name of a piece that you are playing, because how you are playing it, where your skills are, and what you know, are unknown.
