Ilta by Ilmari Hannikainen

Hi Everyone,

This is Ilta by Ilmari Hannikainen.  The pianist is Mary Alberta Siloti, daughter of Alexander Siloti.  This is an unpublished version of Ilta, the manuscript of which was given to the Siloti family by Ilmari Hannikainen.  This would be a nice, very high quality and little known work to include on some recital programmes.

Here one can find the score of the publication version of Ilta:

Mvh,
Michael

Great choice for nro 14 (or is it 15 already?) I like many of his works, this one included. It's a lovely piece. I have a recording of the piece by the composer himself as well a few others...

Hi Outin,

Yes, it is an extraordinary composition.  It would be interesting to hear the composer's recording and see how that compares with the published version, and also the other version here.

I think this was #14 out of now 17 in total!

Michael

Hi Outin,

Just as long as it isn't an imposition . . . and any day/week or whatever is fine, just whenever works out for you to be best.

If you do find time to share it, I will be very appreciative for the opportunity to hear it!
