Hello,

I would really love to get some feedback on a song I wrote recently :)

Thanks,
Matthijs

Thanks for your reply!

Would you be able to say anything about the song itself?

I can't say anything sensible about the song. To the classical music lover this stuff is just all the same and I switched off after 10 seconds. Perhaps there are new age music lovers here who
like this better than I do. IMO the title is very catching and deserves a more interesting kind of music.

Nice little blank pop piece. Very predictable and eviscerated. Still, (or therefor) people will like it

Thank you both for your replies. Is this song really that predictable? It doesn't follow the standard  composition and has some unusual (for pop at least) measures, like the middle section which has 3x 5/8+ 1x 6/8.

Within the confines of a pop or new age setting it works fine and I think quite competently written. Within a classical music setting it's far too static and based around repetitive progressions and predictable descending basslines. The minor/major/minor change is to its advantage, other than that it is quite harmonically simplistic. Credit to you for having written within a recognisable structure and it not being completely amorphous like some similar stuff is.

-Because its very repetitive. When you played that F#-E-D-C# in tour left hand, even  the small unicellular animals on this earth can predict that you will play it again. At least four times

Thanks again, I really appreciate you honest replies. I'll definitely keep this in mind (I will get piano lessons again next year, that should also help, I didn't had the money this year)

Three more times actually :p (and a few more at the end) but I get your point.

-Your piece is quite nice in a pop piano context. The repetive thing is in fact acclaimed in pop music. So, just go ahead if you are into this kind of piano music!  ;)
