This guy's MUSIC

And you're telling me this guy was a contemporary of MOZART?!?!?!??!?!?! During the early 1800s this guy was writing music that sounded like it was from the late 1820s. holy CRAP. This guys style is just awesome. How is he not famous?!?!?!?!?!??!!??!?!

dude! I know right!?!? i've been chiming about him here and there every chance i get for a while. I have an awesome book from the chech repub w/ some scores of his less played works (including a super groovy prelude)

It looks from the video like he's "of color" (black, but I have to learn how to be PC), which at the time was probably not accepted (slavery still being widely accepted).

William Grant Still, was boss! Could totally write and transcribe well for piano, and did some to a good extent!!

That's the problem: he was too ahead of his time. It was better for him to stay with Mozart and not rush forward too fast :)

His neglect is baffling, but his star does seem to be ascending. He greatly influenced Field, so his importance to the romantic movement is rather high.

Both Steibelt and even more so Tomasek composed music before the dawn of the 19th Century that paved the way for the romantics.
