The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Liebestraum No 3 Cadenza 1 Fingering Suggestions
on: May 21, 2015, 10:19:35 PM
Any good ideas on what fingering should be used in this cadenza? I'm curious if there's any better way to go about this than the written fingerings, which, in my version, are somewhat absurd in some parts of the piece.

It's mostly the left hand fingering coming down that screws me over...

For the left hand there's just some many ways you can do it. You practice it separately. For the Right hand it's just 24, 13 all the way, except 25 on Ab Db on the way down.

Also if that helps you can start the cadenza with left hand. Way up >
