Difference between the sound of a male/female pianist
on: May 24, 2015, 04:12:59 PM
I think I already posted this before.
Just curious - have you ever noticed any noticeable difference in the playing of a male pianist, and a female pianist? And if so, what is it?
Thanks for reading!

Sound has to do with one person's character, not gender.
Just look has furiously Yuja Wang or Martha Argerich play without losing anything of their femininity.

I certainly cannot tell the difference, neither can I perceive age or race, and I am sceptical of people who say they detect these things solely from sound.
