Help with piano repertoire
on: June 03, 2015, 12:00:38 AM
Hi there, people!
I'm a Composition student at the university and I was thinking of going to a conservatory, to improve my piano technique... but later I decided not to, because I think I'm capable of acquire good technique by myself (This doesn't mean I'm not going to visit a particular piano teacher every now and then, of course).
My only problem is: what pieces do I get to learn?
I need a good list of pieces in progressive order of difficulty, maybe from some conservatory's program. I've done this search but I couldn't find anything.
Would somebody share with me their conservatory program, or something? That would be awesome.
Well, thanks a lot in advance!

You can't learn technique by learning pieces. You learn technique by learning movement, and then applying them to pieces. You may be able to play the most difficult work imaginable, but if you aren't using the correct combination of movements, you've not mastered your body.
