pedal architecture
on: June 04, 2015, 09:03:25 PM
Hi Everyone,
I've read that Josef Hofmann preferred the two-pedal architecture for his concert instruments. Being a professional inventor maybe he was aware of some mechanical advantage to this design. In my experience, the two pedal instruments offer more ease of execution however they also tend to be earlier instruments with lighter weighted keys and sometimes less key depth. Maybe there is more to it than those two physical distinctions.
Mvh,
Michael
