Chopin's Variations Op. 2 for solo piano
on: July 05, 2015, 03:42:08 AM
Hi again :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

What does Jan Ekier edit to make the solo piano version? Are the notes the same as an earlier, public domain edition? If so, what is that edition?

Surely you don't expect someone to take copyrighted material and tell you what process was used to make the edition so that you can download it without paying for it?  This falls in the same theme of asking for non-PD versions of copyrighted music which you have done in other posts.  Anyone entering a competition, as you are,  should take a few minutes to learn how to honor copyright.

If you were the composer or editor, how would you feel about not being paid?

I'm sorry, but I think this time you misunderstood me :'( :'( :'(

What I meant was, not sheet music of the Jan Ekier edition, but what did he edit it FROM? LIke what was the source? I'm trying to see if the score is already in PD. Was the Tobias Haslinger version the version that Jan Ekier edited? Or are they different?

Thanks, though, for warning me! But this time, it was just a misunderstanding? (I hope?) :-[
