anybody else have an upcoming Christmas recital?

Mine's on Saturday. It's my first 'real' recital. I've played in public (impromto from memory) lots of times, but I've never actually been in an organized recital. I'm kind of nervous....
I'm playing
Bach's Invention No. 6 (thanks guys for helping me on that one, I have it rolling! So gorgeous)
Chopin's Prelude in E Flat Minor- the easy technically but hard emotionally piece.
Angels we have Heard on High- easy easy piece, but had to have it perfect in -2 weeks so didn't want something hard!

Yeah, I've got a recital on Monday in Lawrence, KS (well, it's my student's recital, but I'm playing the Rach Etude Op. 33, No. 7 [No. 4] as well).  I just had my last piano jury of my undergrad experience yesterday, as well.  I played the final movement of the Mozart Concerto in A Major, K. 488, the Chopin Ballade in F Major, and the Rach Etude in E-flat Op. 33, No. 7 (No. 4).  My professor said my jury went very well, so that's good.

I've also been hired to play the piano for a Christmas program showing on 12/22, 12/23 and 12/24 in St. Louis.  I just got the music -- mostly background stuff, plus I'm going to play a solo of "Sing We Now of Christmas", arranged by Lloyd Larson.

Should be fun...

had mine on the 5th, played khachaturian's toccata, hadn't practiced it in a week and it was fine anyway. great audience of random kids and thier parents. nice steinway but it kept shaking when i played loud or fast passages whihch was a bit of a turnoff. yay my one performance for the year (not including my exam), and now to wait for next years!

We're done, done, done!  The local uni has been out since Dec. 10th, and all performances had to be completed the week before.  Thank heavens.  I feel sorry for you guys whose classes (and/or student recitals) go up so close to Christmas.  At least I get a week or so to recover.

Of course Hanukkah was right in the middle of everything this year.

Accompaniment was my "theme" this year, since I work with 4 school choirs.  My teacher, who is completing his doctorate in performance/accompaniment AND doing vocal coaching/prep for the opera, was more swamped than me.  His concert was completed about 10 days ago.  He's a wonderful player--together with a fabulous flutist, they performed "Undine" beautifully.  About the best  I've ever heard it.  Sheer heaven!

Break a leg in your upcoming recitals this weekend!
