Admission Tests Repertoire
on: July 11, 2015, 10:31:30 AM
Hi, I am preparing my Univertsity admission test in music(piano) in Portugal that is more less than a year than now, and I aldredy know what I will play there(Prelude and Fugue in B minor(WTC I) - Bach, Les Adieux Sonata - Beethoven, Harmonies du Soir etude - Liszt and a movement from Suite pour le Piano - Debussy, probably the Prelude).
First,  what do you think of that?
Second, i need to choose one more piece( my teacher wants me to do it), and I noticed I need something like Scherzo nš2 - Chopin, but not the Scherzo itself... I it is just so overplayed, and I donīt even know if I could learn it...and my only colleague that will also do the tests will likely play it there.

Yep

No, what you need is something written after Queen Victoria died.

She died in the same year the Suite pour le Piano was written, but I know what you meant...

The first scherzo isn't a bad idea.
The piano a string instrument controlled by means of percussion.
