What music would you want played at your funeral?

I would want Mozart's Requiem, because...duh. :P

Might just as well be the Schumann concerto as it has haunted me all my life.

Funerals are a waste of time. I have no interest in providing entertainment and a bunfight for scores of people who never gave me the time of day unless they wanted something. I expect those who do matter to me will be busily contacting the bank, the solicitor, and fighting over the house and what's in it that they can flog off for a few bob. If, on the other hand, my wife pegs out first, I shall be morally obliged to organise a two-hour memorial concert owing to the dozens of pieces she asserts must be played at her funeral.

Quite frankly I cannot be bothered thinking too much about either outcome.

I read an intriguing story recently, in the Faubion Bowers book on Scriabin to the effect of: An artist that admired Scriabin very very deeply and who occasionally drew portraits of him died. And when he did, none other than Richter spend the entire day and then played through the night as the artist passed away on his death bed playing nothing else than the music of Scriabin. Well, i can't think of anything better, that's for sure. If i had my choice, that's how it would be.

IF I were to have a service it would be Mozart's Requiem, because it is one of my top favorite's and Barber's 'Requiem'

Thanks for your concern. No, I'm pretty happy, I just hold rather different views to most people about some things. One of the revelations of posting here for thirteen years has been finding just how differently I think, about music and everything else.

Funerals are a waste of time.

Finally someone who agrees with me!

My will states that my remainders are to be given to teaching purposes, so there will be no need for any kind of rituals...

I'd rather everyone just take all the money they would've had for my funeral and just get smashed.
"Free drinks, on this dead guy!"
Then have my body donated to science, most likely. If I turn out to be a concert pianist, perhaps have my hands frozen in carbonate, like Vader?  ;D

If I turn out to be a concert pianist,

We shouldn't have to worry too much about those carbonate hands, then?

Ouch. Not even gonna have the common courtesy to give me an ice pack for that burn?
Though, I must ask, are you going to have anything at all with all that salt?

When I have a reliable way of doing so. Right now I just have audio, not ideal.

What's wrong with just audio?

I intend to post my stuff to YT, and audio only gets less views thee in my experience.
Plus, then you can verify that it's actually me, lol.
Anyone who just must hear me play (ie- nobody) can PM me and we can skype. Not a big deal.

Well I want to hear you play (I like your rep) but I'll wait until you get a camera.
