Piano Street Magazine:
The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

Memory, Cold and lonely last days.
on: August 06, 2015, 06:51:44 AM
I thought I would share this improv I did a couple of weeks after someone very close to me passed away in a distant cold country after a long illness. This was like a musical prayer for them me understanding how lonely life can be, but there is like a Light, our God which will always bind us together with Love. There is like an underlying sense of coldness and loneliness I wanted to present but with some kind of saving warmth reaching out. I thank my God for inspiring this small musical offering I certainly felt it was coming from outside of myself. I played this on a Baby Zimmerman Grand piano (it is my instrument I had a child and it lives in the Church for now) in the Church right near my home.

For some reason this distorts when I play it through my cheap computer speakers but with headphones it's fine.

I found your improv to be atmospheric, melancholy but also soothing and sort of hopeful. Cheers.

Hi LIIW,

To me it was like a candle's flame… delicately pulsing.. moving..

There was a quiet mystery about it...

I enjoyed the ride... Thank you for posting.

That's very cool you see this image theme and pianoguy. There is this electric candle that burns in the church all the time in a pretty red stained glass case and it flickers constantly, I always notice it while I play. Thank you for listening and taking time to comment :)

Hey pianowolfi good to hear from you and I'm so glad you love it, I also love it because it's like a musical prayer for me making me feel so connected to my loved one. For a few months I would listen to this at night and think of them... Sigh... Life is so short.
