I will take the liberty of borrowing my gem from the gardening thread.  It will be repoduced in a separate message box of course, for aesthetic effect, as well as for illustrative purposes .  I.e. referring to the the poem contents.  Replies in Japanese are appreciated (though not understood)..

Since this is a music forum, I should point out that you can sing any Haiku to the melody of "Moonlight in Vermont."

I'm interpreting within the formal design of the haiku.

In honour of that wonderful WB show, Dawson's Creek:

Scientists are thrilled
Neanderthal man exists
on WB

Cro-magnon eyebrows
Skull juts out like rocky cliff
The missing link lives

Mitch Leary is dead
Son of Frankenhead crys long,
hard tears from globe-dome.

Dawson and Pacey
lovers together at last
holding each other

Car crashes--
Gay feelings inside--
Dawson weeps.

How many
pounds is Dawson's head?
Too many.

Large head standing tall
Wind blows hard to no avail
Cannot move huge dome.

Why are you standing
there crying like a woman?
D'you lose your penis?

 Weeping head sinks low
 Big skull crying bigger tears
 Are you built like girl?

Dawson is to head
As orange is to pumpkin
Mammoth cranium

Good God, head
Where have you come from?
Please go back.

An das grosse Kopf
denk mir bei den Nacht so viel.
Kann es wirklich sein?

(On the large head
do I dwell at night so much.
Can it really be?)

Mercredi--
La tete mal forme.
As-tu peur?

(Wednesday--
The mishapen head.
Are you afraid?)

One final gasp for the inimitable Dawson Leary:

Mary Shelley weeps
gazing at her creation
on WB.

my 5th grade assignment haiku:

Dan should get 10 bucks
His haiku kicks so much ass
I am so damned bored

is damned two syllables?
anyway, another.

Don't stare at the sun
It will fry your retinas
You will get cancer

or...

Dan can do the splits
No, it does not hurt his nuts
He is flexible

oh boy, did the teacher hate me...  ;D

I can't think of any Haiku poems but here is a poem I like...

Roses are red,

Violets are blue,

Some poems rhyme,

But mine don't.
