SURVEY- Piano Maintenance Habits
on: August 18, 2015, 10:23:39 PM
Do you own a piano? I'm looking for individuals to fill-out this 5 minute survey about their piano maintenance habits and the viability of a piano-related tech startup, Quonus.

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Piano_Owner

I'm a piano technician in Toronto who wants to understand how owners currently care for their instrument, and how we (piano technicians) can better serve our clients and their pianos.

Your input would be greatly appreciated!

I answered your questionnaire, but I'm afraid I wasn't all that helpful -- or encouraging.  I have three Steinways; two of them I tune myself, though I'm no piano technician, and the other I have tuned regularly by a tuner I've used for years.  I do have some minor disagreements with my tuner, the chief one being that I'd sort of like the piano tuned to 438 rather 440, but that's minor; my tuner could do it, but we've let well enough be.

Humidity control is hopeless where the pianos live, but -- fortunately -- they seem to be used to it.

I'm not a gadget person, nor yet an internet person.  Too old, I suppose...
